with Mike Simmons

7.30pm Tuesday 14th July 2020

Although geology may bring to mind the study of dinosaurs, volcanoes, and plate tectonics, the majority of geologists are engaged in activities which help find energy, mineral, and water resources that are essential for society, but which may have major environmental impacts. Come along and judge for yourself if they are “the good guys” or “the bad guys” in developing a prosperous, yet sustainable, global society.

Mike Simmons works as a geologist for Halliburton at Milton Park and holds honorary positions at the University of London and the Natural History Museum.
