Why The Beacon and what has this got to do with Wantage?
The Beacon has been chosen to reflect the beacons that surround Wantage and was the preferred option from customer research. A beacon is positive, illuminating and welcoming and is a gathering place for the local community. Beacons are still used in celebrations to connect communities across the district and country.
Why should I be interested in the facility?
Our aim is to provide a first class venue with a welcoming, friendly and efficient service. As one of the largest venues in the area, we host a wide range of activities to suit people of all ages and with different tastes and interests, whether you want to take part in a dance or exercise class, watch a band, take your children to the theatre, perform at our Open Mic Night or enjoy an evening of wine tasting!
As well as a programme of activities and events, we offer children’s party packages, wedding receptions and delegate packages for business, or you can host your own event or celebration, this is Your Beacon.

What's included in the hire cost?
That depends on what you are hiring The Beacon for. To discuss your requirements in more detail, please pop in and have a chat or call us on 01235 763456. What we can promise is that great service will be included.
What technology do you have for shows / meetings?
At The Beacon we have a fully functioning performance space featuring an excellent sound and lighting provision. The meeting rooms have all the facilities you would expect from a modern conference venue, including digital projectors and wi-fi. There will be a technical specification on the website with more detail.
How can I get involved with the Open Mic Night?
Our free monthly fix of local talent takes place in our bar every second Wednesday of the month at 7pm.

From the stage to the big screen, National Theatre Live brings the best of British Theatre to our cinema screen. Stay up to date with our monthly National Theatre Live screenings via our website.
What can I expect from the NT Live screenings?
Above all, you can expect to have a fantastic time! Our aim is for our NT Live screenings to have a great atmosphere and for you to have a relaxing time. Part of this is having an interval in the movie and to have a snack or drink from The Beacon Bar.
Can I suggest a film to show in the future?
Of course! We are always interested in what our customers would like to see and welcome suggestions.
