Helen Fry in Conversation with Prof. Gary Sheffield
Spymaster: The Man who saved MI6

Saturday 29 October – 2pm
The Beacon, Wantage

Spymaster: The man who saved MI6 tells the remarkable true story of a man whose life and works have remained relatively unknown – until now. Thomas Kendrick (1881-1972) ran spy networks across Europe and went on to set up a listening operation which would elicit intelligence of the same magnitude and scope as Bletchley Park, earning him the well-deserved title ‘the ultimate spymaster of World War Two’.

Professor Gary Sheffield is joined by Helen Fry, who will be speaking about how her own original research unearthed the life of this fascinating British Intelligence officer.

Gary Sheffield’s extensive studies, lists of appointments and publications qualify him like few others to chair discussions on military history.
